Known for producing some of the world’s finest cashmere, Alxa is home to a unique breed of goats that grow an exceptionally soft undercoat. This undercoat — a thin fleece layer around the roots of the goat's hair — grows during the coldest months and naturally sheds in spring, allowing for ethical and sustainable collection.
